Baseball Enthusiast In Training

Attn: Giancarlo is not a bandwagon fan. He's been obsessed since he was a wee little one.
The gods were good and bestowed a great gift unto us: Field Club tickets to see the Giants--twice! I'm new to the incredible world of baseball, but I'm learning a little (a lot) everyday thanks to Giancarlo and twitter (but mostly Giancarlo). Like I know who Ichiro is and I know the Death Cab guy AKA Zooey Deschanel's ex-person wrote a catchy pop song called Ichiro's Theme because he's leaving his longtime home in Washington for New York.

Although I'm far from being an authority on baseball, it's fun to learn little tidbits about something that is entirely brand spankin' new, and having such an enthusiastic (and darling) teacher makes it all the more better.

Best Little Houses

let the feast begin! props to Giancarlo for cooking everything to delicious perfection.
After several attempts at getting together (and I really do mean several attempts-- try something like 2 years worth) it finally fell into place. A lovely time with lovely people and grilled nibbles, what could be better? Can I just say that her house was phenomenal. It was full of life and it was obvious to anyone that she loved her home. I kinda sorta love it too.

Sorry Giancarlo, Valentina has swiped the sprinked donut from you
Lately, Valentina has been coming along for our adventures, and for the most part she has been enjoying herself. We made a stop at The Best Little Donut House (or something like that). Sure, the inside looks grimy but most of the great local spots are, right? I'll admit that grimy is more appealing in an urban setting less so in a suburban area, but the donuts aren't half bad.

And that concludes the quick little update for you folks. It's a funny thing because July has flown by in a wink. Contrary to what I had thought during the school year, this summer has been more busy than relaxing but it's been an adventure certainly.

Obligatory Bling Post

Sticking your engagement ring in rosebushes is a common post-proposal ritual among 63%* of the newly engaged
Perhaps on-the-finger shots are more common among the newly engaged, but who can know for sure?

On Introductions

There comes a time in a girl's life where it's time to bid adieu to things of the past and take a leap into adulthood. Thus this blog came to be! New chapters in your life should be remembered, right? This platform seems more than appropriate.

My name is Carmen and I'm a college student studying anthropology. Sam Cooke's music speaks to me and summons my inner dancer. However, as a child of the 90s, there will forever be a place in my heart for deliciously embarrassing bubblegum pop (N'SYNC anyone?).  My fiance, Giancarlo, is a student of Classics, an avid disco dancer, and a butterfly enthusiast.

Cheers to an enjoyable and fulfilling journey!
